“Inspiration is for amateurs, the rest of us just show up”, Chuck Close

I make functional stoneware pottery. I focus on texture, negative space,  balance, and proportion..

The pots are formed using basic clay building concepts, squeezing, smearing, paddling, pinching,  polishing, cutting and carving. The glaze skin is built up with layers of  slips, stains, and glazes. All the pots are fired to 2300 degrees Farenheit in an electric kiln. They are impentrable, sturdy, tight, and functional.

I don’t take myself too serious, but I do take my craft very serious.
Through my craft it is important for me to honor timelessness, tradition, ancestors, and predecessors. I strive for this by following my intuition, seeking self-realization, working hard, and gathering the patience to take risks.
